This Year's Artist in Residence: Playback Memphis
This Year's Artist in Residence: Playback Memphis

This year the residency features Playback Memphis which was founded by St. Mary's Alumna Virginia Reed Murphy '87. The Louise T. Archer residency takes place every year and was made possible by a bequest from the late Louise T. Archer, a St. Mary's alumna who graduated in 1940, and by additional gifts from her daughters, Nell Archer, class of 1979, and Louise Archer Slater, class of 1967. The residency brings a nationally recognized artist to St. Mary's each year.

Playback theatre creates space for people to experience a high level of connectivity, communication and empathy through the act of storytelling. Virginia and Playback Memphis visited our girls all across campus. Our 6th graders got to enjoy workshops with our guests as well!
