At St. Mary’s Lower School, we value the joys of childhood
while understanding the importance of helping our students gain a deep love of
learning. Each day is filled with
engaging activities that help build a strong foundation for academic
achievement and self-confidence.
Our program is designed to provide a challenging and
developmentally appropriate learning experience. Led by a skilled and nurturing faculty, St. Mary’s teaching
strategies are based on brain research and studies analyzing how girls learn
best. These methods capture the
natural curiosity of children and include hands-on learning, cooperative group
work, open-ended questions and various problem-solving activities that promote
critical thinking and curiosity.
The low student-to-teacher ratio provides the supportive atmosphere
needed for each girl to discover her individual strengths and academic
interests.
Our school’s weekly Chapel service and on-going character
education program fondly called, A Bridge to Caring, not only nurtures our
students spiritually, but allows them to reach beyond themselves to discover
the importance of respect, kindness, courage, thankfulness, honesty and
cooperation. These timeless values
are woven into our academic curriculum on a daily basis, creating an environment
that supports and honors the whole child.
St. Mary’s Lower School is a place where your daughter can
learn, play, pray and laugh…a place where she can thrive!
With Joy-
