Policy and Procedures for Application and Enrollment

St. Mary's does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnic or national origin in admission or in any other activities or programs of the school.

Application Procedure

• Parents should submit a completed and signed application form with a $50 application fee that is nonrefundable and is not applied toward tuition. Other requirements include a signed Release Form, a completed Confidential Parent Statement and, for girls entering grades five through 12, a completed Student Questionnaire and an interview with the Division Head.
• The applicant must satisfactorily complete the St. Mary's entrance examination (or developmental readiness evaluation for all kindergarten levels).
• For girls applying for grades 2 and above, a transcript of previous school history, standardized testing and attendance is required. Teacher recommendation forms are also required.
• A campus visit during school hours is strongly recommended for those applying for grades 5 and above.
• A satisfactory health record in accordance with Memphis and Shelby County laws must be on file before a student can attend classes.

Enrollment

• The school will offer a written enrollment contract to qualified candidates for whom space exists. Enrollment is considered complete when the signed contract and tuition deposit are returned to the school.
• Enrollment is understood to be for the full school year, and a full year's tuition must be paid. Tuition refund insurance is available to abate economic hardship should a student need to withdraw. Tuition refund insurance is required for all new students and students receiving financial aid and is optional, but recommended, for all others. Information about the insurance is included in the enrollment contract.
• A student is offered a place for the following year if she meets the academic and behavioral standards of the school and her fees have been paid.
