Welcome to the alumnae section of the St. Mary’s Episcopal School Web site! I hope you will find it to be a useful resource to stay connected to your classmates and your alma mater and to learn about what is going on at St. Mary’s today. St. Mary’s offers its alumnae opportunities to gain the personal and professional satisfaction that comes with a close association of like-minded women and an opportunity to share in the future of the School.

Today, St. Mary’s has 58 alumnae with 75 daughters enrolled at the School. There are 2,625 alumnae living in 47 states and 14 countries around the world and enjoying a wide range of careers. St. Mary’s graduates can be found practicing medicine or law, designing couture clothing, accomplishing architectural feats, teaching and preaching. Each month, alumnae chapel speakers return to the Church of the Holy Communion to address the student body about their life’s journeys after leaving St. Mary’s.

St. Mary’s encourages each alumna to stay in touch, and lend her gifts, talents, time, and resources to support our distinguished School. Currently, 10 alumnae serve on the St. Mary’s Episcopal School Board of Trustees, and Sarah Willmott Cowens '82  is the third consecutive alumna to serve as Board Chair.

St. Mary's alums distinguished themselves this year by increasing participation to the Annual Fund to 53%, up from 36% last year and met the $50,000 challenge for 50% participation. And what's more, overall participation for alumnae is higher than that of many peer schools as well as traditional benchmarks. St. Mary's alums contributed $291,349 (up from $275,248 last year). The Class of 1987 celebrated its 25th Reunion and beat the $25,000 Reunion Challenge, raising $25,000. during their reunion year. The Class of 1975 is the first class ever to have 100% alumnae participation.

Thank you to every alumna who gave this year - your support makes a difference at  St. Mary's. Here's hoping for an even stronger turnout in 2013!

Opportunities abound for you to have fun, rekindle old friendships, and socialize with other St. Mary’s graduates. Whether it is at an out-of-town gathering, luncheons with the Head of School, or through class reunions at Alumnae Weekend, we encourage you to remain connected with your alma mater. Alumnae can reconnect and network through the St. Mary’s Alumnae Online Directory, and they can stay informed through the bimonthly electronic newsletter, magazine, and Alumnae Facebook page.

Please feel free to contact me or any of the Alumnae Board members if you have any questions or suggestions or are interested in getting involved.
