Artist in Residence
Louise T. Archer Artist in Residence
Each year, the Louise T. Archer Artist in Residence brings a nationally or internationally-recognized artist to campus to engage with students through lectures, demonstrations, gallery talks, master classes and performances. Over a span of several days, students are immersed in the arts and work directly with the artist in residence to expand their knowledge, skills and self-awareness.
Established in 2001, the residency was made possible through a bequest by alumna Louise T. Archer '40 and the continued generosity of her daughters, Nell Archer '79 and Louise Archer Slater '67. Previous artists have included the Martha Graham Dance Company, Anonymous 4, Wendy Smith Rice '88, and the 2014 Artist in Residence, Scottish singer and musician Julie Fowliss.
