The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association

Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) has realigned all public- and private-school divisions for the 2009–2013 school years. Every four years TSSAA reassigns schools based on enrollment. Due to the fact that St. Mary’s offers financial aid to its students, it is a Division II school. The new enrollment line was drawn in such a way that St. Mary’s will be in Divisions II’s Class A West Region.

We are excited at the new opportunities this new classification will offer our athletes and look forward to beginning new relationships with other private schools in our area and across the state. Our regional competition will include ECS, Harding, FACS, St. George’s, IC, SBEC, Lausanne, and University School of Jackson. Through non-regional play we will, however, continue our traditional rivalries with St. Agnes and Hutchison.

The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association is a voluntary, nonprofit, self-supported organization, conceived by school people (teachers, principals, superintendents) and administered by individuals carefully chosen to conduct the program.
