Middle School Cross Country
After graduating from Houston High School here in Germantown, I went to the University of Mississippi on a soccer scholarship. At Ole Miss, I was actively involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes where I got to work with high school students, and that is when I discovered I wanted to be a teacher.
While getting my Master’s in Education at the University of Alabama, I continued to work with FCA and started coaching soccer. Upon graduation, I moved back home to Memphis where I got my first teaching and coaching job with Shelby County Schools. I spent two years at Cordova High School until I heard St. Mary’s was looking for a soccer coach. I have been here since the fall of 2004 and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else – working at St. Mary’s is such a blessing!
Besides being a teacher and coach, I am a wife, a mother, and a runner. I met my husband Drew at soccer camp and married him in August of 2003. Our daughter, Anna Claire, is the light of our lives! Both Drew and I are avid runners and we love to put Anna Claire in the jogging stroller and run all over Germantown.
I have had the blessing of teaching our youngest turkeys in the ECC for the last nine years. I have fallen in love with St. Mary's through both my teaching experience here, and as a parent of two daughters (now in Lower School). Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family and be outside! I am a lifelong runner. It is my "happy place", my stress relief, and my main form of exercise. It is a wonderful sport and I am so excited to have the opportunity to pass on my love of running to our middle school team this year!
