Middle School Track & Field
Graduating from Delta State University in 1984 with a BS in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, I have thrived in my career for over 29 years in teaching and coaching. Past occupations have included serving as the program director at Alpine Camp for Boys, teaching at Presbyterian Day School, and joining the faculty at St. Mary’s in 1986 where I have coached varsity and Middle School sports: track, cross country, volleyball and basketball.
I am a Physical Education teacher for PK-4th grades and I coach Middle School and Varsity track. I have been teaching and coaching for 23 years, the last 18 at St. Mary’s. Over the years, I have coached basketball, cross-country, golf, volleyball, swimming, track, and lacrosse.
I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1988 with a B.S in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. My first job out of college, I taught 4th grade at another co-ed independent school in Memphis and was the director of summer camp for the YMCA. During the summers, I would take groups of boys and girls to an outdoor challenge camp at Camp Lookout in Chattanooga, where we would hike, camp, kayak, rappel and white water raft down the Nantahala and Ocoee rivers.
Outside of St. Mary’s, I enjoy spending time with my husband Gerald and our two daughters Taylor and Peyton, who both attend St. Mary’s. I stay busy driving them around to their many sporting events where I enjoy being a spectator. I like to travel with my family, play golf, read, and sew.
The best part of my job at St. Mary’s is I get to watch the girls grow and mature from PK to 12th grade. I love to see how much they change from the shy, meek little girls when they first walk through the doors to the independent, creative, confident young women as they walk out our doors.
