Mock Trial Team Places 3rd at State, Receives Sportsmanship Award

St. Mary's placed 3rd in the State High School Mock Trial Tournament sponsored by the Tennessee Bar Association held in Nashville, TN, on March 16 and 17, 2012. There were 13 teams from all over the state competing for the state championship with the honor of representing Tennessee at the national tournament.
The St. Mary's team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award, voted by all of the teams in the competition. Senior Amritha Kanakamedala received the Most Valuable Player Award for the St. Mary's Team. Junior Bhavya Jha received the 2nd place award for Best Advocate for the Plaintiff.
Judge Lorrie Ridder coached the 2012 team and Pam Guinn is the advisor.
