St. Mary's alums did it
Posted July 2, 2012
Last year alum participation climbed to 36% - an all-time high - but Alum Chair Lisa Moore Cook '82 challenged us to think even bigger this year. Cook proposed a 50% participation goal and a $50,000 challenge reward to inspire and encourage alums. "I knew it would be a stretch goal. As a St. Mary’s Alum, I knew that we could do it! I never doubted that we'd succeed," said Cook.
When asked what made the difference this year, she answered, "I believe that there were three keys to our success. First, would be our sense of community and the phenomenal support of the Alumnae Board, Class Agents and Reunion Chairs. Second, was our desire to continue the legacy of providing a superior educational experience for our girls. Third, would be the alums who committed to the $50,000 challenge. I'm so grateful to the alums who made that possible. It was a team effort from start to finish, and I couldn't have asked for a better team!"
And of course, a team is only as good as its leader, and we had the very best. Thanks to Lisa and whole team for the yeoman's work they did this year.
