General Submission Guidelines for Artists

The Levy Gallery, located in the Buckman Performing and Fine Arts Center at St. Mary’s Episcopal School, is committed to showing original, high-quality fine art by both professional and exceptional emerging artists. We welcome the opportunity to view new work and accept artists’ submissions on a regular basis.

We have five exhibition slots per calendar year, with each show running approximately four weeks. Our 1,400-square-foot lighted exhibition space can accommodate sculpture in addition to two-dimensional work. Levy Gallery accepts proposals for solo, two-person, and/ or group shows. Work is assessed for its quality, originality, and appropriateness for our gallery. Though we primarily show work by artists from the Mid-South region, submissions from artists outside the region will be considered.

Artists seeking consideration for exhibition should submit the following:

· 6-8 images of recent or proposed work or a CD of digital files email to cyounker@stmarysschool.org)

· Specs for submitted works; medium, dimensions/size

· Standard artist packet: resume, bio, artist statement

· A sample price list

· A self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of materials

Please don’t send:

· Original work

· Large packages or oversized reproductions of your work

All work exhibited in Levy Gallery must have been completed in the last two years and may not have been previously exhibited in Memphis.

The Buckman Performing and Fine Arts Center becomes the fiscal agent for the period of the exhibit.

Materials are reviewed by our selection committee annually and may be retained for up to 12 months. Exhibitions are scheduled at least six months in advance.
