A Spring Celebration

2023 Springfest Court: Princess Sarah Taylor Stout, Queen Mary Paige Scott, 2022 Queen Sofia Arbelaez, 2022 Princess Lyla Furlong; pages Daisy Echols ’35, Nora Nease ’36, Elizabeth Andring ’35, and Julia Levine ’35

The arrival of spring brings one of St. Mary's most cherished traditions, Springfest, where members of the junior and sixth grade classes select a classmate to serve as Queen and Princess. Students are asked to identify a peer who represents the ideal qualities of a St. Mary's girl: kindness, compassion, positivity, involvement, hard work, and leadership.

This year, the juniors selected Mary Paige Scott as Queen, and the sixth grade class chose Sarah Taylor Stout as Princess. It was a joy to celebrate these deserving students on a beautiful spring day.

In the annual event, students gather to crown the Queen and Princess and honor them with musical tributes. The ceremony also represents the passing of leadership from the senior class to the juniors. During the ceremony, each senior presents an iris flower to members of the junior class.
