It Was Always St. Mary's

For Amina Dilawari ’95, there was no question where Noora ’36 and Nadiya ’34 would attend school.

“We make a lot of difficult choices as parents; fortunately for us, choosing the right school for our girls was easy. It was always St. Mary’s,” Amina said. “SMS has a unique ability to bring out the best in our girls and let them see the possible in the impossible. I believe that my girls will be able to do anything they set their hearts and minds to because of St. Mary’s.”

Amina is a Senior Director of Creative & Content Strategy at ALSAC/St. Jude, where she finds ways to drive impact through storytelling. Fourteen years ago, she left a job in advertising to find a position that both challenged her and centered her in purpose.

“Finding fulfillment through mission-centered work is something that both my family and St. Mary’s instilled in me very early on,” Amina said. “Serving others and our community was always deeply rooted in our education, and it’s something I am thankful remains today.”

A former Alumnae Board member, Amina has included St. Mary’s in her giving for the last eight years. Gifts from generous alumnae like Amina, help St. Mary’s provide girls discover their potential and leave ready to make the world a better place.
