Mary Jensen Nease, RN ’10, the newest member of the Health Center team, loves working with St. Mary’s parents and students. “There is so much life and joy among these sweet girls that I get to interact with!” Mary joined St. Mary’s in August as the North Campus Nurse. Mary, an alumna and PK parent, knows the St. Mary’s community well, but has enjoyed the opportunity to get to know more students and parents.
Before joining St. Mary’s, Mary worked at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in both inpatient and outpatient settings. “One of the greatest things that St. Mary's prepared me for was just being aware of and attentive to people who were different than I was. Of course, I was very academically prepared for college and nursing school, but even more, I felt prepared to face obstacles, challenges, and unexpected events in life as I learned from my peers and teachers at St. Mary's."
“I love being a nurse in a school setting for so many reasons but the number one reason would be the environment of joy and support. There is so much support from faculty and staff, and I never feel on my own here.”
