Our Senior Kindergarten and 4th-grade students welcomed their grandparents to campus for Grandparents Day just before Thanksgiving. We began the festivities with a reception for St. Mary’s grandparents. The following day, grandparents from near and far gathered to spend the morning with our girls and enjoy a special presentation. Upon arrival, the grandparents received custom gifts of ceramic handprints from the 4th grade and photo coasters from SK.
The students began the program with words of appreciation for our visitors. The girls then introduced them to Bridge to Caring with a fun selection of songs and musical performances representing the character traits of our signature character education program:
1. Respect
2. Responsibility
3. Thankfulness
4. Kindness
5. Self-control
6. Honesty
7. Courage
8. Cooperation
The students presented each of the eight character traits with a song and shared what they have learned about incorporating these key traits into their daily lives at St. Mary’s and beyond. It was a joy to have our St. Mary’s grandparents on campus and offer them a glimpse into what is happening in our classrooms.
