Last month, the Buckman Performing & Fine Arts Center welcomed sell-out crowds for the Upper School production of Mary Poppins. The spectacular show wowed audiences for six performances. The cast included 30 Upper School students, as well as nine Middle School and three Lower School students, a MUS student, and a Middle School teacher, who lent their talents to the production of the timeless musical.
Audiences enjoyed the fun, magic, and beloved musical numbers, including a tap number to remember, choreographed by Christi Hall. “From figuring out how to fly Mary Poppins to staging 47 cast members at one time, this production was a massive undertaking,” shared Director of Plays Jenny Madden.
The weeks of rehearsals and hard work paid off for Madden, the cast, Assistant Director Nathan McHenry, Music Director Julie Millen, and the Upper School crew. The result was a not-to-be-missed extravaganza of imagination and whimsy.
