Celebrating Spring & Traditions

four girls at St. Mary's springfest

Each April, St. Mary’s Episcopal School celebrates Springfest, our cherished tradition that brings Middle and Upper School students together through arts, music, and community. Now in its 135th year, this year’s event included the meaningful iris ceremony, where seniors passed the symbol of leadership and hope to juniors, reflecting the core values of St. Mary’s: kindness, compassion, positivity, involvement, hard work, and leadership.

Of course, one of the most treasured moments of the ceremony is the crowning of the Springfest Queen and Princess. Chosen by their peers, these honorees represent the very best of their respective divisions.

The 2025 Springfest Queen is Miss Catherine Virginia Ciaramitaro ’26, and the Princess is Miss Dorothy Sykes Curry ’31. Their selection is not only a recognition of their character and contributions, but a symbol of the leadership and grace they bring to their school community. Springfest 2025 also announced the ceremonial pages to the Queen, adding to the joy and pageantry of the day. This year's pages are Miss Winifred Helen Talbot ’36 and Miss Everlee Price Wynne ’37.

The ceremony honored last year’s Springfest royalty as well, the 2024 Queen: Miss Mollie Danielle Wexler ’25 and 2024 Princesses, Miss Finley Kate Cannon ’30 and Miss Eleanor Hampton Parr ’30.

From the carefully chosen music to the elegant presentation of the Queen and Princess, Springfest 2025 was a beautiful reminder of the deep-rooted traditions and enduring values that make the St. Mary’s community so special. It was a celebration not only of spring’s renewal but also of the legacy of leadership that continues to bloom in every corner of the campus.
