Record-Breaking AP Results at St. Mary’s

In 2025, 94% of St. Mary's students taking AP tests earned a passing score, reaching a new benchmark of academic achievement. In fact, at St. Mary's, this 94% is a reason to celebrate!

St. Mary’s continues to set the standard for academic excellence, with 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) exam results reaching new heights. 

Upper School students took 571 AP exams this spring and achieved a remarkable 94% pass rate, a score of 3, 4, or 5. St. Mary’s continues to score well above the national passing average of 60 percent. 

“We’re incredibly proud of our students,” said Dr. Lauren Rogers, Head of the Upper School. “It’s one thing to offer more AP courses, but it’s another to maintain and improve our performance. These results reflect academic challenge and the support and strong teaching our faculty provide daily.”

Over the past six years, St. Mary’s has expanded its AP offerings both on campus and online through its partnership with One Schoolhouse. Today, students can choose from 30 AP courses, allowing them to explore everything from calculus and biology to studio art and psychology. This growth is a result of student interest and a commitment to challenge each girl while ensuring she feels supported.

“Girls at St. Mary’s are encouraged to take academic risks and follow their passions,” said Rogers. “That’s why our AP program isn’t just about credits or scores, it’s about discovery, confidence, and preparation for what comes next.”

Beyond the numbers, the AP program gives students a taste of college-level expectations and often helps them uncover long-term interests. 

“Colleges recognize St. Mary’s for the strength of our curriculum and the intellectual curiosity of our students,” Rogers said. “Our students thrive in the classroom because they love what they’re learning. That enthusiasm carries over into college and beyond.”

The College Board has honored St. Mary’s with Platinum Status, the highest recognition for AP programs. It’s an honor that affirms St. Mary’s girls are curious, capable, and more than ready to lead.
