Our St. Mary’s Community Courses offer educational opportunities for adults to learn something new or discover a hidden passion. Courses will cover a variety of topics and be led by alumnae, faculty, staff, and local professionals. From mahjong to embroidery, there's something for everyone!

Gardening with Your Children
Gardening with Your Children is a hands-on, family-friendly class designed to introduce young learners and their parents to the joys of gardening. Through fun and interactive activities, participants will discover the wonders of nature and learn how to grow their own plants, herbs, and vegetables. This class will cover the basics of gardening, including soil preparation, planting techniques, plant care, and sustainable gardening practices.

Herb Container Gardening

Herb Container Gardening
Join us for an exciting and hands-on class on Herb Container Gardening! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned gardener, this class will teach you how to grow a variety of fresh herbs in containers, making it easy to enjoy homegrown herbs even if you have limited space or a small garden.

Embroidery Classes

Embroidery 102 
Embroidery is a fun and creative way to personalize just about any fabric! In this class, you will learn backstitch, chain stitches, lazy daisies, and French knots.  You’ll learn how to use an embroidery hoop and a “blue” water-soluble pen to create a one-of-a kind design. You will learn and practice each stitch and then, after some practice, you will start working on a one-of-a-kind embroidered handkerchief.  Supplies will be provided and will include: an embroidery needle, an embroidery hoop, a “blue” water-soluble pen, a handkerchief, and DMC thread. Each participant will leave with a custom embroidered handkerchief to keep or give away as a gift. Perfect for Mother’s Day or for Mom’s and Grandmom’s of grads!

Mahjong Lessons & Mixers
Would you like to learn the fun game everyone's been playing and raving about? Join us for a step-by-step beginner lesson of American Mahjong where we will learn the basics of the game. Mahjong Mixers are for those who know how to play and want to grow in confidence and strategy. Come Mahj and invite your friends!
