Fun, discovery, and investigation await every child in a creative, supportive, and enriched environment rooted in St. Mary’s Episcopal School’s mission.

We offer a variety of year-round programs, classes, and workshops from hip hop, gymnastics, and fairy tale science to SAT, ACT, and PSAT college prep courses, as well as one-on-one tutoring. Our popular summer day camps start the Tuesday after Memorial Day and run through the first week of August. If your child is a dreamer, a doer, or an explorer, she'll love our extensive offering of unique enrichment programs.

After 3

Our after school program is available for students from St. Mary’s Place (2 years) through 12th grade starting the first day of school in August and continuing every day school is in session unitl the last class day in May. All students receive a snack and engage in a wide range of activities including indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, reading, and free-time. After 3 care is from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All students must be picked-up promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Lower School students in grades 1st-4th have a designated homework time in a supervised, structured environment. We offer a variety of monthly care options to choose from.

St. Mary’s offers special care options for students in St. Mary’s Place through 4th grade on certain days when regular school is not in session. Snacks are provided, but students must bring a nut-free lunch from home. *Cancellation policy is in effect if the minimum number of students is not met.

This class provides comprehensive reviews of math, science, and verbal skills necessary for taking the ACT.Students also learn test taking strategies and complete practice tests during the class.Students will need to bring a calculator for the Math portion of the workshop and all other materials and practice tests will be provided.

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore, class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements.

Pre-Ballet "12 Dancing Princesses" (3 sessions)

In this class, students will learn the beautiful art of French classical ballet with a unique and fun syllabus designed by Children’s Ballet Theater director Mary Van Dyke. The theme of the session is the ballet “The 12 Dancing Princesses”. There will be a parent recital on the final day of class for each session in the ECC Building. For class, students should wear school clothing and bring ballet slippers; tutus are provided. For recital, students will need a pink leotard, and pink tights or white thin bobby socks, and hair in a bun. Tutus will be provided.

Soccer Clinic

This clinic is for players of all skill levels. Players will be coached in small groups that are tailored to suit each person’s age and ability level. Each player should bring soccer shoes, a soccer ball, shin guards, tennis shoes, and a water bottle.

Turkeys Swim Team
SK-5th Grade

Join the St. Mary’s Lower School swim team! Under the guidance of experienced coaches, swimmers will be encouraged to develop their swimming technique and improve their conditioning in a positive, fun, team-oriented environment. Swimmers will receive coaching focused on technique and endurance training with exposure to all four strokes, starts, and finishes. This offering is fun and rewarding, culminating in two low-pressure swim meets against other local schools. To sign-up, a swimmer should be able to swim freestyle the length of a 25 yard pool unassisted. Practices will take place at the Nuber YMCA on Quince.

Reading Screenings

The Hughes Learning Center offers a reading screening to aid in determining a child’s risk for reading difficulties and to identify areas of strength and weakness. The screening can identify potential areas of reading difficulties as well as reading intervention strategies. This screening is NOT a full reading assessment nor a substitute for a Psychoeducational Evaluation. Parents will receive an informal written observation with recommendations. If a tutor is recommended and retained through the Hughes Learning Center, progress monitoring will be provided as needed.

In this class, learn storytelling and creative photography techniques as well as technical skills. Students will learn about the history of photography, the types of photography that exist today, and how to create photographs with emotion and creativity. In this ten week semester our students will be continuing their exploration of world music! St. Mary’s is pleased to offer several options for private music lessons to our students and families. Suzuki violin, piano, voice, and guitar lessons are available. Students taking music lessons after school may stay in the after care program free of charge until their lesson time and will receive a snack, enjoy recreation, and older girls will have a designated homework time. Siblings are also welcome to take lessons at St. Mary’s. Each teacher manages his/her own schedule, so please contact him/her directly regarding availability and fees.

More than fifty years ago, Japenese violinist Shinichi Suzuki began to apply basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music. He called his method the ‘mother-tongue’ approach.

Parent Involvement: Parents attend lessons with the child and serve as “home teachers” during the week. One parent often learns to play so that s/he understands what the child is expected to do. Parents work with the teacher to create an enjoyable learning environment.

Traditional Music Lessons
St. Mary’s offers several different options for families interested in traditional music lessons. Traditional music lessons expose students at an early age to technique, music theory, and sight-reading.

Our very first Helping Hands class will begin with a visit from the Upper School St. Mary's Community Fund Leadership Council members! These girls will share their mission and a few reasons why giving back is so important. After hearing from our Upper School students, the girls will make blankets to donate to The Humane Society and Streetdog Foundation for puppies in need.

All policies and procedures expressed in the St. Mary’s Student Handbook apply to Enrichment Programming. All students must be fully potty trained to participate in any enrichment activity. Any questions should be addressed to the director.

If you haven’t done so before, please create a complete profile for you and your child. You can register for classes, as well as make payments through this site. You may also contact Kacie O’Kelley (Enrichment Programs Business Manager) at kokelley@stmarysschool.org or 901-537-1415 for registration and to make payment.


A $25 deposit per class is required for registration. The $25 per-class deposit is applied toward the total class fee; it is not an additional fee. The deposit reserves a space for you child, and the remaining balance is due by the start date of the class. All deposits are non-refundable. Our program accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, as well as checks and cash. St. Mary’s classes will not be prorated for any reason. Classes with insufficient enrollment are subject to cancellation with a full refund. Advance notice will be provided to those registered.

St. Mary's classes will not be prorated for any reason. A reservation must be canceled before the start date of the class to receive a refund. Dropping a class after the start date will be non-refundable.


Students are expected to adhere to the policies of St. Mary’s Episcopal School at all times while on campus. We reserve the right to dismiss from the program (without refund) any student whose behavior beomes unmanagable.


Only adults designated on the registration form will be allowed to pick up children from the program. Written authorization is required for pick up from someone other than those listed on the registration form. The parent or authorized adult to whom the child is being released must sign the child’s time sheet and record the time.


It is important that students be picked up promptly at the end of their classes. Children not picked up within 15 minutes of the end of class will be checked into our after school program and charged a drop-in fee.

Students should be picked up promptly at 6:00 p.m. Parents will be charged a fee of $2 per minute for the first 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, a late fee of $5 per minute will be charged. All late fees must be paid at the time of pick-up. If a student is picked-up late more than three times in a semester, St. Mary’s reserves the right to dismiss that student from the after school program.
