Auxiliary & After3 Programs

Fun, discovery, and investigation await every child in a creative, supportive, and enriched environment rooted in St. Mary’s Episcopal School’s mission.

We offer a variety of year-round programs, classes, and workshops from hip hop, gymnastics, and fairy tale science to SAT, ACT, and PSAT college prep courses, as well as one-on-one tutoring.

Our popular summer day camps start the Tuesday after Memorial Day and run through the first week of August.

After3

Our after school program is available for students from St. Mary’s Place (2 years) through 12th grade starting the first day of school in August and continuing every day school is in session until the last class day in May. All students receive a snack and engage in a wide range of activities including indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, reading, and free-time. After3 care is from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All students must be picked-up promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Lower School students in grades 1st-5th have a designated homework time in a supervised, structured environment. We offer a variety of monthly care options to choose from.

St. Mary's Place Options

  • 5 days per week at $250 per month (August & December $125 per month)
  • 3 days per week at $210 per month (August & December $105 per month)

Options for PK-8TH

  • 5 days per week at $225 per month (August & December $112.50 per month)
  • 3 days per week at $195 per month (August & December $97.50 per month)

Daily drop-in fee: $20

Fall Special Care Days

St. Mary's offers special care options for students in St. Mary's Place through 8th grade on certain days when regular school is not in session.  Students will enjoy recreation, crafts, activities, and movie time each day.  Snacks are provided, but students must bring a nut-free lunch from home.  All special care days will be located on the North Campus.  


Holiday Exam Week FOR ST. MARY'S GIRLS GRADES 6TH-8TH

Join us for holiday fun!  The girls can take a break from exams and enjoy special crafts, games, and more as we get ready for the holidays. Bring a nut-free lunch each day. Snacks will be provided.

Schedule: Thursday-Tuesday, December 13-18 | 12:00-5:00 p.m.  Cost: $35/day

The only care available between 10:30-12:00 is our Holiday Specialty Classes on Thursday and Friday.  No care will be provided by our staff between for those hours.


Cookies, Crafts, and Cheer FOR ST. MARY'S GIRLS GRADES 6TH-8TH

Let's celebrate with holiday cheer because it's the most wonderful time of year!  In this special class, the girls will get creative with baking and decorating cookies as well as making a special holiday craft each day.

Holiday Camp FOR GIRLS & BOYS GRADES SMP-5TH

Jr. Chefs GRADES SMP-SK

Icing, sprinkles, candy, OH MY! In these very popular classes, the kids will decorate their favorite desserts and create fabulous themed treats! Whip your way over to Jr. Chefs for a sweet afternoon!

Tasty Treats GRADES 1ST-5TH

A cup of fun, a tablespoon of surprise, and a dash of creativity is all you need to make delicious treats in these very popular classes. The girls will whip up yummy themed treats to share and enjoy!

Spa Science GRADES 1ST-5TH

Girls become spa scientists as they learn to mix, make, test, and take home a variety of spa treats to pamper themselves!

Pumpkin Painting GRADES JK-5TH

Join Ms. Rachael for a fall themed Pumpkin Painting Party!  Along with fall themed crafts, each girl will receive a pumpkin to paint, glitter, glam, and decorate with a design of their choice.

Marvelous Manners GRADES 2ND-5TH

“Good manners will open doors that even the best education cannot.” ~Clarence Thomas. This class will explore good manners. Girls will learn basic party and dining manners, telephone and electronics etiquette, how to be a good guest and a good hostess, and manners related to personal hygiene.

Friday Night Fling GRADES JK-5TH

Neon colors, glow sticks, and more!  Light up the night and join the party at our Friday Night Fling!

3D Holiday Ornament GRADES 3RD-5TH

Design your own 3D printed holiday ornament!  Use the iPad to create your design, then pick the color you want for your ornament.  All ornaments will be printed and delivered before winter break.

Meowey Holidays GRADES JK-3RD

​​​​It's not just us who loves the holidays! Join us in making your kitty's holidays meowey and bright.  In this one day class, the girls will make the purrrfect gifts for their furry friends!

Basketball 101 GRADES 1ST-5TH

Put your game face on and get ready to play! In these sessions, players will practice the basic fundamentals of basketball including shooting, passing, and dribbling. The fitness portion of clinics will focus on speed and agility work.

Middle School Fall/Winter Classes

Lettering Love GRADES 6TH-8TH

The girls will learn basic modern calligraphy letters and how to use the letters in any size and on any surface!  The skills will include letter anatomy and styles, how to scale and set up perspective, how to choose the appropriate writing tools and how to add art to personalize a piece.  The girls will bring home a completed lettering art piece from each class.

College Prep

ACT Prep Workshops For girls and boys entering grades 10th-12th

This class provides comprehensive reviews of math, science, and verbal skills necessary for taking the ACT.  Students also learn test taking strategies and complete practice tests during the class.  Students need to bring a small lunch/snack and calculator they plan on using for the exam; all other materials and practice tests provided.

Music Lessons

MUSIC CONSERVATORY

St. Mary’s is pleased to offer several options for private music lessons to our students and families. Violin, piano, voice, and guitar lessons are available. Students taking music lessons after school may stay in the after care program free of charge until their lesson time and will receive a snack, enjoy recreation, and older girls will have a designated homework time. Siblings are also welcome to take lessons at St. Mary’s. Each teacher manages his/her own schedule, so please contact him/her directly regarding availability and fees.

Traditional Music Lessons

St. Mary’s offers several different options for families interested in traditional music lessons. Traditional music lessons expose students at an early age to technique, music theory, and sight-reading.

Tutoring

The Nathaniel C. Hughes Learning Center at St. Mary's offers our North Campus students, and girls and boys from other schools, the opportunity to enhance their reading and literacy skills.

Tutoring: SK-12th

The Hughes Learning Center works with a variety of tutors trained to meet the needs of every student. From multi-sensory instruction to executive functioning, emergent reading skills to college essay writing, in almost any subject, we can pair your student with a tutor whose goal is to instruct, practice, and encourage independent skills. Peer Tutoring: 5th-8th

The Hughes Learning Center has a team of Junior and Senior student tutors ready to help your Middle School student finish homework, study for a test, or practice a difficult concept. Peer tutors have received a B+ or higher in the academic class they are tutoring and have been recommended by a St. Mary’s faculty member. Policies & Procedures

GENERAL INFORMATION

All policies and procedures expressed in the St. Mary’s Student Handbook apply to Auxiliary Programming. All students must be fully potty trained to participate in any enrichment activity. Any questions should be addressed to the director.

To register online, please go to www.stmarysschool.org. When you click "register", you will be directed to our online registration system, Ultra Camp. If you haven’t done so before, please create a complete profile for you and your child. You can register for classes as well as make payments through this site. You may also contact Kacie O’Kelley, Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs,  at kokelley@stmarysschool.org or 901-537-1415 for registration and to make payment.


COURSE FEES

A $25 deposit per class is required for registration. The $25 per-class deposit is applied toward the total class fee; it is not an additional fee. The deposit reserves a space for you child, and the remaining balance is due by the start date of the class. All deposits are non-refundable. Our program accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, as well as checks and cash. St. Mary’s classes will not be prorated for any reason. Classes with insufficient enrollment are subject to cancellation with a full refund. Advance notice will be provided to those registered.

St. Mary's classes will not be prorated for any reason. A reservation must be canceled before the start date of the class to receive a refund. Dropping a class after the start date will be non-refundable.


BEHAVIORAL POLICY

Students are expected to adhere to the policies of St. Mary’s Episcopal School at all times while on campus. We reserve the right to dismiss from the program (without refund) any student whose behavior becomes unmanageable.


PICK-UP AUTHORIZATION

Only adults designated on the registration form will be permitted to pick up children from the program. Written authorization is required for pick up by someone other than those listed on the registration form. The parent or authorized adult to whom the child is being released must sign the child’s time sheet and record the time.


LATE FEE/PICK-UP POLICY

It is important that students be picked up promptly at the end of their classes. Children not picked up within 15 minutes of the end of class will be checked into our after school program and charged a drop-in fee.

Students should be picked up promptly at 6:00 p.m. Parents will be charged a fee of $2 per minute for the first 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, a late fee of $5 per minute will be charged. All late fees must be paid at the time of pick-up. If a student is picked-up late more than three times in a semester, St. Mary’s reserves the right to dismiss that student from the after school program.
