Do you love storytelling? How about video games? This class combines storytelling and design by guiding students through the creation of their own story-based video games. Not only will students explore the foundations of storytelling—crafting their own original characters, settings, and plot—but also some basic elements of design—color, structure, and movement. This class will take students through the parts of the creative process—from the idea to drafting to revising, and ultimately publishing! Creative writing encourages imagination and logical thinking. It also provides a safe space to fail because a part of the creative process is trying out ideas that might not work and that’s okay! Students will need an iPad for this class.
