Support St. Mary's

St. Mary’s Constance Fund has been established in response to COVID-19 pandemic. Gifts to the fund will help St. Mary’s meet the critical needs of our students and prepare the school to reopen with the appropriate staffing, training, and reserves to face what is projected to be an uncertain year ahead.

The past weeks have tested us in ways we could never have imagined. Many friends are suffering, others grieving. We hold them and our community close, keeping all in our thoughts and prayers. Many of our families find themselves suddenly facing financial insecurity as a result of the pandemic; many fear they will be unable to keep their daughters at St. Mary’s without financial aid for tuition and other expenses. The school will face increasing demands and expenses as a result of the pandemic.

Our answer to these pressing needs is the newly created Constance Fund which bears the name of Sister Constance, St. Mary's Headmistress from 1873-1878, who sacrificed her life caring for victims of the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1878. Gifts to the fund will help St. Mary’s meet the critical needs of our students and prepare the school to reopen with the appropriate staffing, training, and reserves to face what is projected to be an uncertain year ahead. Gifts designated to the Constance Fund will provide resources to be applied toward the following areas:

  • Financial Aid for students whose families have been impacted by the crisis.
  • Professional development and training for teachers as they reimagine teaching in a prolonged period of distance learning.
  • Technology equipment, staff, training, and network stability to support full engagement in distance learning.
  • A fully staffed and trained Health Center to provide excellent health care on our campuses and to ensure compliance with all guidelines for safe and healthy operations.
  • Address unforeseen costs that arise within our family, faculty, and staff community during this uncertain time.

St. Mary's will emerge stronger, and despite the tumult that surrounds us, hope, and heroes abound!
